This is paint correction in Westminster done the careful way. I remove the swirls, scratches, and dull spots from your clear coat by mapping every defect under inspection lighting, testing before I cut, and matching the work to what your finish can safely take. By appointment, for drivers across Carroll County who want it done once and done right.
Polishing is one step. Correction is the whole process.

Paint correction is the process of safely removing defects from your clear coat without thinning the paint past safe limits. It's not a wax. It's not a glaze. It's a measurable change to the surface that takes a swirled or scratched finish and brings it back to clarity.
Clear coat is a finite layer. Most factory clear coats are only one and a half to two thousandths of an inch thick, and aggressive correction can remove a real share of that on a single panel. Once it's gone, it's gone. That's why I map the defects, test before I commit, and match the method to the panel in front of me instead of running the same aggressive pass over the whole car.
That is the model Mr. G’s runs on. Map the defects, match the method, and test in a small section before scaling across the panel. The work takes longer than a single quick polish at a busy shop, and it produces a finish that holds depth for years rather than months, especially when paired with a ceramic coating in Westminster, MD to lock the result in.
Defects we correct
Not every defect is the same. Some lift with a single polish. Others take several stages to clear. I map exactly which ones are on your car before I scope the work, so you know what you are paying for.

Swirls, corrected
This is a real correction at Mr. G's on a blacked out Jeep Gladiator. Drag left and the clear coat scatters the light into a halo of swirl marks worked into the surface. Drag right and the corrected finish hands the light back as a clean, mirror sharp reflection after the cut and polish.
That is the whole job. A swirled finish breaks light apart. A corrected finish hands it back, and that is what gives black paint its depth in the sun.
Drag to compare →

When a correction is finished, the haze is gone and the reflection underneath is sharp again. The clear coat is optically level, so light bounces back clean instead of scattering across swirl marks and wash marring.
Most Carroll County drivers see it for the first time during the final walk around, and it is even more dramatic in raking light, which is why I inspect every correction the same way it would be judged at a show.
Our 5-step correction process
Every correction runs through the same five stages. The paint is read before any compound comes out, the defect map is built before any pad spins, and a test section proves the method before it scales across a panel.
Read, map, test, then cut
Before I open any compound, I get the paint clean and walk every panel under inspection lighting. I find the worst defects, judge how heavy the correction needs to go, and build the plan around what your finish can safely take. Correction by guess is how clear coats get thinned past safe limits, so nothing starts until I can see exactly what I'm working with.
A foam soak, a contact wash, an iron remover, a clay treatment, and a final alcohol wipe. By the end, the defect set is clearly visible under inspection lighting with nothing masking it.
With the paint clean, I walk every panel under angled lighting and map the defects. Swirls, random deep scratches, holograms, water etching, oxidation. The correction plan and pad/compound choices are matched to that map, not applied the same way across the whole car.
Correction goes heaviest to lightest. A cutting pad with matched compound handles the worst defects. A polish pad refines what the cut left. A finish pad clears the fine marring. I run test sections between stages so I know what the paint is responding to before scaling across each panel.
After correction, the finish is wiped with alcohol, inspected under angled light, and anything missed gets another pass. Then the corrected finish gets protected. A sealant or ceramic coating goes down before pickup so the work is locked in, not left exposed.
Pricing
The right stage depends on your paint's condition. Where each stage begins is below, and the firm quote comes after I read the paint in person.

Correction is the right prep before a ceramic coating, because a coating locks in whatever is underneath it. Final pricing depends on the size and condition of your vehicle.

Paint correction is the riskiest service in detailing because the work cannot be undone. A shop that does not test before it cuts is guessing at what the paint can take. A shop that does not map the defects first is running one aggressive method over a problem that is never uniform. A shop that does not photograph the work cannot show you what you paid for. Mr. G’s Auto Care does all three on every correction.
The result is a corrected finish that holds its depth, a full set of before and after photos you keep for the life of the vehicle, and a single detailer who answers for every panel. Most corrections are bundled with a full auto detail so the cabin matches the finish on pickup. That is what makes the work worth doing properly, and it is what makes Carroll County drivers willing to drive to the Westminster shop when the finish matters.
Pair with
Once the correction is complete, the finish needs to be protected. A sealant holds the work for months. A ceramic coating holds it for years. And the foundation under all of it is a complete detail to start clean.
